This role is a senior technical leadership position responsible for driving engineering excellence and digital transformation through customer-centric, AI-driven engineering solutions. As a founding Principal Software Engineer for Xometry's India PDT team, you will be instrumental in elevating engineering practice, influencing cross-functional leaders, and ensuring our marketplace systems deliver measurable business value at scale. You will be partnering closely with product and engineering leadership across Xometry's global offices. <h2>How You'll Contribute:</h2> AI-Driven Development <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Set the standard for AI-native development across the org, coaching Staff and Senior engineers on integrating AI tooling into architecture, design, and delivery to drive measurable speed and quality gains.</li> </ul> Software Development & Technical Craft <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Lead architectural design and technical direction for systems spanning multiple teams, ensuring they are extensible, scalable, and built to enterprise-grade standards.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Serve as a founding Principal Engineer for Xometry's India PDT, establishing strong engineering practices and building a high-performing team.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Set a high technical bar and mentor engineers across architecture, delivery, and technical execution as the team scales.</li> </ul> <h2>What You'll Bring to Xometry:</h2> <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">12+ years of professional software development experience, with a proven track record of leading complex, multi-quarter initiatives.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Deep technical expertise across Xometry's core stack: Python (backend services, APIs), React/TypeScript (frontend), and AWS cloud infrastructure.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Deep, hands-on fluency with modern AI development tools (AI coding assistants, agentic dev tools, AI-assisted code review), with a demonstrated ability to use them to compress delivery timelines and to coach others in adopting them effectively.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Significant experience with system architecture, microservices design, and distributed systems, particularly systems that operate cleanly across multiple teams or organizational boundaries.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">A track record of introducing architectural patterns that get adopted as organizational standards, not just single-project fixes.</li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;
