The role We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to take ownership of key general ledger functions, including fixed assets, insurance accounting, and the month-end close process. This role is instrumental in ensuring the integrity of our financial records through comprehensive reconciliations and the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual statements. The ideal candidate is a collaborative professional who can work effectively across diverse functional teams to maintain a smooth finance operating model and drive accuracy throughout the accounting cycle. Your day-to-day - Take full ownership of the Fixed Asset lifecycle, including recording acquisitions, disposals, and working with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate reporting. - Manage the Insurance Accounting manual, maintaining up-to-date documentation and ensuring all insurance-related transactions align with company policy. - Execute all month-end close journal entries with precision, ensuring the general ledger reflects accurate financial positioning. - Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, providing the necessary data and schedules to support corporate reporting. - Perform comprehensive account and bank reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies to maintain the integrity of the balance sheet. - Conduct detailed reconciliations for Fixed Assets and Insurance accounts, bridging the gap between sub-ledgers and the general ledger. - Provide ad-hoc analysis and support to the broader Finance team to drive continuous improvement in accounting workflows. - Work cross-enterprise with diverse functional teams to ensure a smooth finance operating model. About you - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a similar field, OR equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience, OR equivalent relevant experience. - 3 - 5 years of experience in a finance, accounting, or analytical support role. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a keen eye for detail, numerical aptitude, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets, and a solid grasp of basic accounting and financial principles. - Excellent communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively in a dynamic environment. - A proactive and eager learner with a strong desire to build a career in finance, demonstrating the ability to work well under guidance and as a collaborative team member. - Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to maintaining a high level of confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information. Bonus points - Prior use of accounting software. - Experienced in reconciling bank accounts and financial records, ensuring data accuracy and resolving discrepancies. - Experience with insurance accounting. Salary: $105,000 to $125,000* *Please note that the final salary offered will be determined based on the selected candidate's skills, and experience, as well as the internal salary structure at Quanata.
