Senior Project Engineer - Traffic/Technical Service Manager at ms consultants, inc. Raleigh, NC. We are looking for a Senior Traffic Engineer to complement our Transportation team in our Raleigh, NC office. The position will involve working directly with staff, including engineers, technicians, and administrative staff, on the pursuit, development, and execution of traffic engineering projects. You will collaborate with numerous ms team members within the Transportation Business Unit. About the Transportation Business Unit: The Transportation Business Unit provides transportation engineering services for all project types and scopes, from the largest interstate systems to local municipality roads. Some of the services provided include roadway and intersection design, corridor improvements, bridge replacement and rehabilitation, and environmental documentation. What You’ll Do: - Perform traffic analysis and prepare traffic studies, safety-related reports. - Design traffic signals and prepare signal plans. - Prepare signage and pavement marking plans. - Develop traffic management plans. - Provide assistance with feasibility studies, environmental planning documents, and propose changes for highway projects to enhance traffic efficiency and safety. - Lead designated task assignments and report progress to senior staff. - Oversee final project plan and document preparation. - Communicate with clients and potential clients to obtain and implement projects to their satisfaction. What You’ll Bring: - Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university, or equivalent experience. Our ideal candidate will have the following: - Professional Engineering License (PE) with the ability to obtain PE licenses in multiple states. - Demonstrated traffic engineering experience. - Familiarity with MUTCD and NCDOT policies and procedures. - Proficiency with MicroStation or AutoCAD. - Experience with HCS and GuideSign software. - Familiarity with Synchro, VISSIM, and Transmodeler software preferred. - Ability to lead, provide direction, and collaborate effectively in a team environment. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
