How you will create an impact - Handle general liability and employer liability claims adjudication, reserving, and settlement of claims within given authority level. - Interpret policy wording for both SME and Commercial portfolios to determine coverage. - Understand common law claims, permanent incapacity computation, medical expense, and leave wage derivation, eventually driving claims resolution effectively and timely within required turnaround times per AIG’s internal claims SOP. - Ensure fair and impartial adjudication of regulatory coverage and communicate developments and outcomes to all concerned parties. - Provide high-standard customer service and adhere to legal and regulatory requirements. Functional Responsibilities: - Manage key claims inquiries, including general liability coverage and legislative coverage determination, and determine special and general damage awards according to Singapore law. - Communicate broadly with internal and external stakeholders where required. - Strive for continuous improvement in claim file handling through feedback and support from Quality Assurance Review processes. - Contribute to maintaining best practices for GL/EL intermediate to high-value complex claims, consistent with global best practices. - Demonstrate high technical claims competence and handle intermediate to advanced complex claims in the Line of Business. - Conduct ad hoc administrative duties. - Align with team members to ensure adherence to best practice protocols consistent with global best practices. Accountabilities: - Timely, accurate, and customer-focused claims resolution while minimizing indemnity exposure and mitigating vendor and legal expenses. - Effectively communicate key complex claims and GL/EL portfolio messages to internal stakeholders. - Maintain financial control through disciplined reserve management and other financial transactions. - Interpret policies accurately and consistently. What you’ll need to succeed: - Basic insurance certifications (e.g., BCP and Comm GI). - Proven experience in assessing complex GL/EL claims. - Timely, accurate, and customer-focused claims resolution while minimizing indemnity exposure and mitigating vendor and legal expenses. - Effective communication of key complex claims and portfolio insights to internal stakeholders. - Financial control through consistent reserve planning and disciplined financial transactions. - Accurate and consistent policy interpretation. - Administrative experience is preferred. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Time management skills, enabling prioritization of workload and diary management. - Ability to contribute effectively in a team environment. - Capability to work with claims and various stakeholders such as underwriters and actuaries to drive claims strategies effectively. - Sound knowledge of technical claims topics. - Skill in policy language (regulatory and claims assessment) enabling accurate and consistent interpretation of policy wording. - Basic knowledge of legal, regulatory, and litigation/procedural requirements for the line of business. - Experience following up on recommendations from technical claims audits and pursuing continuous claim handling improvements. - Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
