Controller
Job Description Among the main tasks, the Controller will support the local Finance team in: - Supervising the issuance of financial statements along with more than 20 annexes of information, which are reported monthly to the local regulator (Superintendencia Compañías, Valores y Seguros) - Supporting the team with monthly tax return reports and the annual income tax return to the regulator SRI - Validating CAPEX project execution and conducting related analyses - Supervising the aging of suspense accounts and others related to coinsurance businesses - Estimating and accounting for technical reserves, including UEPR and IBNR among others - Reconciling balances with related parties abroad - Coordinating quarterly review processes with external auditors and risk rating agencies - Implementing the company’s accounting policies for local and GAAP purposes - Conducting financial analyses on the profitability of Lines of Business (LoB), channels, and sponsor businesses - Generating monthly financial reports for the CFO and the Company’s Board of Directors - Performing risk analyses of financial procedures The Controller must be a qualified professional, ideally with a registered CPA degree and extensive experience in local accounting and tax regulations. What we’re looking for: - 3rd degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field - 5 years of experience in similar positions - Knowledge in the insurance sector - Advanced proficiency in office tools - English fluency (85%+) - Teamwork skills (delegation, collaboration, and proactive support) - Analytical capabilities for problem-solving - Ability to handle pressure and meet CFO and AIG requirements - Organizational skills and a results-oriented focus - High levels of communication - Relationship development skills - Problem-solving capacity using assigned resources - Ethics and reliability - Adaptability to change The Controller must be a qualified professional, ideally with a registered CPA degree and extensive experience in local accounting and tax regulations.
