Your tasks The opportunity: For our School of Business at the Potsdam campus we are looking, starting 01.09.2026, for a new full-time colleague who shares our vision of excellent teaching and is committed to making a sustainable contribution to the academic development of our students and staff. As a professor, you will prepare students for practice-oriented work in the areas of Robotics Engineering and Applied AI, including Robot Programming, Parallel Programming, Sensors & Perception, Control Systems, Embedded/Real-time Systems, Simulation & Digital Twins, and Responsible Deployment (Safety, Standards, and Eethics). Main activities and responsibilities: - Teaching introductory and advanced courses in Robotics Engineering, Robot Kinematics & Dynamics, Control Systems, Autonomous & Mobile Robotics, Sensors & Perception, Embedded & Real-Time Systems, Industrial Robotics & Automation, Human–Robot Interaction and Safety - Planning and conducting interdisciplinary research and development projects in robotics, autonomous systems and intelligent automation/manufacturing - Advising and supervising students to support them in achieving their goals - Assessing student performance and supervising seminars, projects as well as bachelor’s and master’s theses while ensuring high academic and didactic standards - Building and maintaining collaborations with industry partners - Participating in academic self-administration and committees to actively support the success of the UE - Contributing to the design of new degree programs and the continuous development of existing curricula in cooperation with our quality management team - Advising prospective students and participating in UE outreach activities Requirements for the professorship: - Completed university studies with a master’s degree or an equivalent degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Energy Technology or a related engineering discipline - Proof of a particular aptitude for academic work, usually demonstrated by the quality of the doctorate and/or the quality of scientific publications - At least three years of qualified professional experience, of which two years were gained outside of a university, in the field of the professorship Your profile - Teaching experience in the areas of Mechatronics, Programming, Microcontrollers/Microprocessors, Basics of Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Control & Motion Planning, Sensors/Perception, Mechanics, Embedded Systems, mathematical modeling and applied AI for robotics; experience teaching advanced modules is an advantage - National and international professional experience - Ability to teach courses in English.
