Attorney Associate

Job Purpose Legal supports the Business to move forward by providing legal advice and solutions based on the deep understanding of the Business, industry and the related laws and regulations, and the strong relationship with Business. Job Responsibilities - Provide legal advice on/related insurance transactions - Draft and review legal documentation such as general commercial contracts, agent contracts, and outsourcing contracts - Work closely with various business sections and other functions, providing advice on changes to law and regulatory trends - Provide support and legal training to colleagues - Proactively detect legal issues, conduct legal research, and provide solutions - Manage external legal advisors Key Relationships Internal Interactions (Within the Organization) Distribution, Product, Claims, and the entire company External Interactions (Outside the Organization) Law firm Required Skills and Experiences Educational Qualification No specific requirements Specific Qualifications - Qualified to practice law in Japan or in other major common law jurisdictions - Certain knowledge of the insurance industry (preferable) - Business-level proficiency in English (TOEIC 800 or above) and Japanese Total Experience - 5+ years of experience as a qualified lawyer - Experience in the insurance business (preferable) At AIG, we value in-person collaboration as a vital part of our culture, which is why we ask our team members to be primarily in the office.
