Job Purpose The accounting staff will organize the accounting process to ensure that the accounts related to insurance transactions are appropriately managed, make necessary postings, and monitor whether these accounts maintain proper balances, etc. Additionally, the staff will report relevant information to the parent company and partner companies, etc. Funds settlement for reinsurance and co-insurance is also part of the responsibilities. To achieve the above, understanding the insurance business underlying the accounting processes and gaining knowledge about the systemized posting processes is required, along with pursuing a more efficient and error-free posting process. Responsibilities - Creation of journal entries - Preparation of financial reporting documents based on Japanese and US standards - Review of prepared documents (including inquiries from overseas business partner representatives) - SOX and external audit correspondences - Inquiry handling related to settlements from the parent company, group companies and related transaction parties - General ledger balance management Key Relationships Internal (within AIG): - Finance departments (Financial Reporting, Reinsurance, Treasury, Financial Planning, Actuarial Insurance Liabilities, etc.) - SOX team External (outside AIG): - External auditing firms - Reinsurance companies - Business partners Required Skills and Experience Education: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent Skills/Knowledge/Abilities/Qualifications/Licenses: - Bookkeeping Level 2 or higher (preferred) - TOEIC score of 800 or higher (preferred) Work Experience: - Basic knowledge of financial accounting and bookkeeping (5+ years of experience preferred) - Experience using MS Office, especially Excel (functions are mandatory) - Excel (data editing, pivot tables, and functions are mandatory) - Word (internal document creation), PowerPoint (internal presentation preparation) - English communication via email and online meetings (email correspondence is mandatory) - Ability to adapt to diverse workplace environments - Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks within deadlines in a high-pressure environment - Cooperative and team-oriented attitude - Ability to build cooperative relationships and actively communicate with internal and external stakeholders At AIG, we value in-person collaboration as a vital part of our culture, which is why we ask our team members to be primarily in the office.
