Financial Controller – Hybrid
The Philippines Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial control and compliance obligations of the Philippine entity. The role will ensure month-end is completed accurately and on time, financial records are properly reviewed, and all compliance-related payments are checked before release.
This position plays a key control function within the business. It is responsible for reviewing payroll-related obligations, statutory remittances, tax-related payments, and other regulatory financial requirements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. The role will also support leadership with clear financial reporting, risk visibility, and stronger financial discipline across the entity.
The Financial Controller will work closely with internal leadership, finance support teams, payroll providers and external advisers to ensure the business remains compliant and financially well managed.
- Oversee and review the month-end close process for the Philippine entity
- Sign off month-end financials before submission to leadership
- Review reconciliations, journals, accruals, and payroll-related entries for accuracy
- Review compliance-related payments including tax, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, permits, and other statutory obligations before processing
- Ensure all compliance payments are supported by proper calculations, reconciliations, and documentation
- Monitor due dates and reduce the risk of penalties, missed payments, or non-compliance
- Prepare or review monthly financial reports, variances, and risk items for management
- Maintain strong financial controls, approval processes, and supporting records
- Liaise with external accountants, payroll providers, auditors, and advisers as required
- Identify process gaps and improve finance controls and reporting discipline over time
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field
- CPA qualification preferred
- At least 5 years of experience in a senior finance, accounting, or financial control role
- Strong experience in month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Good knowledge of Philippine statutory compliance, payroll obligations, and tax-related payments
- Experience reviewing financial records, payment schedules, and compliance documentation
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Ability to identify risks, challenge discrepancies, and escalate issues when required
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with senior stakeholders and external advisers
- Experience in BPO, managed services, or multi-entity environments is an advantage
