Role Overview

The role provides key support to the finance function by preparing financial reports, maintaining accurate accounting records, managing statutory requirements, and assisting with month‑end processes. This position requires strong attention to detail, solid accounting knowledge, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Assist in preparing financial reports, including balance sheets and profit & loss statements.
  • Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with Australian accounting standards.
  • Support the preparation of BAS, GST, and other statutory reporting requirements.

Accounting Operations

  • Perform data entry, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Assist with month‑end closing processes and related reporting tasks.
  • Use accounting systems such as MYOB and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to manage financial data.

Stakeholder Support

  • Respond to internal and external financial queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives involving finance processes and documentation.

General & Administrative

  • Work independently in a remote environment while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Perform other position‑level duties as they arise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2-3+ years’ experience in an accounting, finance, or bookkeeping
  • Basic understanding of Australian accounting principles, BAS, and GST requirements.
  • Familiarity with MYOB and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is advantageous.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • High attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to undertake further professional development (e.g., CA or CPA pathway).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a remote team structure.
